Gay is one of the co-founders of HandsOn. She has worked with individuals who are deaf blind for the past 30 years. Her experience includes work in San Antonio at Education Service Center, Lighthouse for the Blind, Goodwill Industries, Camp Summit and HandsOn. She has received several awards for her commitment to the field.

Maria has worked with individuals who are deaf-blind for the past 21 years. Her career experience includes Goodwill Industries, Deaf-Blind Multihandicapped Association of Texas, Camp Summit and HandsOn.

Laura has worked with individual who are deaf blind for 13 years. She has received several awards during that time for dedication and excellence in the field. Her experience includes work at Volunteers of American and HandsOn. Laura was also a volunteer with the Special Olympics aquatic team in Austin for 3 years.

Norma has worked with individual who are deaf-blind for 9 years. Her experience includes work at Goodwill Industries, Camp Summit and HandsOn.

Kate is new to working with deaf blind participants.  She is a registered nurse, graduating from the Baptist School of Health Professions, with previous experience on a cardiac/medical surgical nursing unit.  Prior to being a nurse, Kate attended Texas A&M University in College Station where she had a Community Health major.

Jodie is a Registered Nurse who began her career in deaf-blindness in 1994 with Goodwill Industries Hilltop Program, which later became HandsOn.  At Goodwill Jodie worked not only with the deaf-blind program but also their residential program for people with mental health and mental retardation.   Jodie has worked as a Deaf-Blind Consultant for Camp Summit and acts as the nurse for the DBMAT family conference every year.    She has experience working in long-term care and Hospice.  In addition to being part of the HandsOn Team, she currently works full time at Methodist Children’s Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit where she is on the Cardiac Team, PICC Team and acts as a Preceptor for new nurses.

Brittani is new to working with deaf blind participants. She began working in the medical field in 2006 as a CNA on various units such as medical, surgical, oncology and pediatrics at the Medical Center in College Station.  Moving to San Antonio she began working as an ER technician in the Emergency Room at Northeast Baptist Hospital, and now as a Registered Nurse for HandsOn. She graduated from Baptist School of Health Professions with honors and was the recipient of the David Garrett Professional Nursing Student Award for Excellence.  Other medical experiences consist of Health Counselor in Florida, Mississippi, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and New York, and volunteering for CAMP Camp.
